To increase the safety and likewise save on print costs
Océ and Inepro have developed a solution with the Follow-me-Printing-plan, that combines the two with each other.

Who hasn’t experienced it: an urgent print assignment is ready, but the hardware is striking. The result: the print assignment must be sent to another device, what will not only cost time, but finally also money, because usually the document will be printed after the problem has been solved. A request, that always has been neglected in a lot of companies, is the safety during printing. Besides the danger, that information can be unraveled, forgotten documents on the printer also indicate a serious lack of safety if the information can be read or copied unhindered by unauthorized persons.
This dilemma doesn’t only cost time and money, but in the worst case also the appearance of the company, if delicate information falls into the wrong hands. For this aspect of safety, Océ, supplier of products and services for professional document management, and Inepro, producer of systems of high-tech smart cards and document management, have found a solution together: the Follow-me-Printing-plan. This plan contains a software-solution on the basis of the new systems of VarioLink and VarioPrint from Océ, that will make it possible for the users to print their assignments on every printer that is conected to the network. Furthermore they can only print by introducing a PIN code or an authentication with smart cards, what will prevent the unauthorized access to documents. Anyhow the smart cards can already be in use for time registration or access control.

Use the hardware completely
And that is how it works: the user prints from his workplace in a central waiting line on the print server. Here are the documents kept until the user collects them on the first available printer, by an authentication with a PIN code or smart cards. That is how you are not only saving on unnecessary print costs and copy costs, but also the internal safety during printing will increase considerably. The Follow-me-Printing-plan contains a system of allocation of costs to specific users, departments, cost centres or projects. This will make it possible to determine and control the complete load of the devices and finally reach the optimal efficiency of the hardware.
