MJ Flood sees great opportunities for KUARIO in public spaces

Since its launch in 1935, Irish company MJ Flood has been able to position itself as the largest indigenous supplier of copiers, digital technology, office furniture and interiors for the modern office environment.

Since its launch in 1935, Irish company MJ Flood has been able to position itself as the largest indigenous supplier of copiers, digital technology, office furniture and interiors for the modern office environment.

By putting the customer first, constantly reinventing itself, and anticipating the needs of the market,  MJ Flood is now a leading national and global supplier with 9 offices in Dublin (HQ), Athlone, Belfast, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Wexford and Waterford. MJ Flood’s Printing & Imaging division employs 115 people with the highest accreditations in the industry.

MJ Flood is the exclusive distributor for Konica Minolta in Ireland and provides high quality print management solutions and technical expertise for the Irish market and beyond.

Growing demand for cloud hosted print solutions

By closely monitoring the market, it soon became clear to James Kavanagh, Head of Managed Print Services, that the demand for a public, cloud-based printing solution was growing fast. When he was introduced to the KUARIO payment and device management platform through his partner Konica Minolta, he knew that this public cloud printing solution would be a great addition to MJ Floods' portfolio.

First installation at student accommodation block

James Kavanagh sees many opportunities for public printing via KUARIO at sites with multiple visitors such as supermarkets, libraries, colleges and more. He also believes that the solution can in fact, generate additional traffic and thus additional income. The first KUARIO installation by MJ Flood is, in his opinion, a perfect example of such an environment, a student accommodation with 240 students.

Previously, the reception at the student accommodation block had to deal with the constant requests from the residents as to whether they could print & copy on site. To reduce the workload at the reception desk and provide a user-friendly printing solution, the managers chose a Konica Minolta MFP with KUARIO solution. Students can now print, copy, scan & pay with the KUARIO app without the involvement of any staff.

In addition to the convenience of having a self-service MFP in the building, students pay less for the print services than they would have if they went elsewhere.

Forward thinking with mobile payments via KUARIO

"In addition to high-quality printing, copying & scanning on Konica Minolta's MFPs, we can now also offer future-proof payments via the easy, safe and clever KUARIO app. Other payment methods, like coins or cards, will soon become outdated, especially now that almost everyone has access to a mobile phone. For operators, the KUARIO dashboard provides all the features and information they need to efficiently manage their MFPs and transactions," says James Kavanagh.

Prompt and efficient support

“We were well supported during the very first installation of KUARIO in our own showroom. In addition to the training of our technicians, we also received remote support during the installation itself. This personal contact led to an optimization of the technical manual so it matched the installation process on the specific Konica Minolta machines in a more logical way.

“With KUARIO added to our portfolio we can now offer another great solution for the print market. Due to multiple possibilities of linking various devices in one location such as vending, lockers, cash registers, etc. to the payment and management platform, we will certainly investigate to expand our services in the future”, says James Kavanagh.

And another success story
